WIP it - bow ties and stash building

Devo's Whip It plays in my head every time I sit down to write these posts. I can't help it. Is the song playing in your head now too? Oops, I'm sorry.

Let's see. I finished the pillow for Mommy for Reals/TRAC. I'm thinking about making another one before I pop this one in the mail. I think I have time.

I started this cute little bow tie, just for fun. I hadn't decided on a closure, but didn't order some pieces for a closure. I posted it on instagram and had several friends say they wanted to buy one from me if and when I decide to make and sell them. Not sure I'll make them for etsy, but I'll definitely make them for friends to purchase.

Randi's June Sew Along has started and finished and I'm still gathering more fabric to use on my sewing machine cover. I really need to get it together and start cutting my tumblers. Maybe next week I'll finally have something to post other than the few fabrics that I've picked out.

I'm glad to be caught up with Beginner's Quilt-Along, it's so much nicer to only have to work on one block at a time. Here's block 4:

I didn't get any work on my Lucy's Crab Shack quilt done, unless picking out the name Oh Lucy! counts. I like it.

My local fabric shop, Crimson Tate, is having a sale this week, so I'm headed down there to pick up some goodies to build my stash. I'm pretty excited. I'm setting a budget though. I don't get paid for another two weeks, so I need to be careful or I'll have to start eating my fabric instead of food.

now I will think of that song every time I write my WIP wednesday post! I think that bow would make a perfect accessory to a plain pillow...must make one, now! Thanks for linking up!

Hi Melissa. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your beginner blocks are lovely and is that a zig zag quilt I see out of Lucy's crab shack? Happy quilting!

I am pretty sure picking a name counts as progress!
